Slovak sprinter Ján Volko finished second in the 60-metre run, earning a silver medal for Slovakia at the European Indoor Athletics Championships Belgrade 2017 on Saturday. The overall winner, Briton Richard Kilty, finished with the European record of the year 6.54 seconds. Volko came only 0.04 seconds behind him, thus creating a Slovak national record of 6.58 seconds. Ján Volko, a 20-year old member of the BK HNTN Bratislava, is the first ever sprinter from Slovakia to be in the finals of the 60 meter discipline.
