The 2017 edition of the IIHF World Ice-Hockey Championship shall be remembered as the tournament where Slovak fans didn't get to hear the Slovak national anthem played at the stadium. This was because Slovakia won only one out of seven matches in the group phase, and due to the fault of organisers they didn't even hear the anthem after their only victory. Finishing 14th and not advancing to the play-offs makes Slovak hockey fans wonder what actually went wrong, and what should be done not to repeat this in the future.
