In her final discipline at the 2019 World Championship in Are, Sweden, on Saturday, the Slovak alpine skier Petra Vlhová took the bronze medal. With a 3rd place in slalom, the young Slovak skier completed her medal collection as she became the world champion in the giant slalom on Thursday and ended up as a runner-up in the Alpine combined. In slalom, Vlhová ended behind American Mikaela Shiffrin and Sweden's Anna Swenn Larsson. "I really wanted to win a medal, but the track was difficult. I did not feel very good, but then I just let the skis go... I have three medals, I did not expect it at all, it's amazing. And that amazing encouragement I feel from Slovakia," Vlhová told the media after the race on Saturday.
