Slovakia will not reach the play-off stage at the 2019 Ice Hockey World Championship. Despite series of victorious matches, when Slovaks defeated France 6:3 on Friday and Team GB 7:1 on Saturday, all hopes were lost after Team USA defeated Germany 3:1 on Sunday evening. This means that four teams that that will get to the quarterfinals from the Košice B group are Canada, USA, Finland and Germany. Slovakia did not manage to get to the play-off stage of the tournament since 2013.
