Slovak cycling star Peter Sagan of the Bora-Hansgrohe team took second place in the 2nd stage of the 103rd Giro d'Italia behind home racer Diego Ulissi (UAE Team Emirates). Mikkel Frolich Honore (Deceuninck-Quickstep) from Denmark ended third. Sagan managed the 149-kilometre long route from Alcama to Agrigento in 3:24:58 h.
After this stage, Sagan will surprisingly wear the blue jersey for the leader of the best climber classification. Moreover, he is second in the best sprinter classification.
