You may have heard of the so-called "Réti opening". It is the one, that the master chess player and theorist, Richard Réti, used most famously to defeat José Raúl Capablanca, the reigning World Chess Champion, in a game at the 1924 New York tournament. Richard Réti, a world known chess celebrity was born in the town of Pezinok, only 20km away from the Slovak capital Bratislava.
