Slovak Alpine skier Petra Vlhová won a World Cup giant slalom event at Jasná, Slovakia on Sunday, beating second Alice Robinson of New Zealand and third Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States. "As soon as I learned that I had won, I burst into tears. Frankly, I do not know whether I have ever been more emotional than today," Vlhová said after the race. With this victory, the Slovak has recorded her 19th World Cup win, the fifth in the giant slalom. Moreover, on Saturday, she earned second place in the slalom race in Jasná. Thus, Vlhová has slashed Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami's lead in the race for the big globe to 36 points.
