Slovak Alpine skier Petra Vlhová, the winner of this year's Ski World Cup, announced via social media that she is parting ways with her coach Livio Magoni. The Italian coach has been training Vlhová since 2016. Aside from winning the overall Crystal Globe under his guidance this year, Vlhová also won two small Crystal Globes for the slalom and parallel slalom disciplines in 2019/2020 and a total of five medals in individual disciplines at the 2019 and 2021 Ski World Championships. "It was a long and difficult journey for something we'd all desired so immensely. In the end, the dream has come true and I won the overall Crystal Globe. It was an amazing five years with you, Livio, and I learnt a lot during this period. I'm most grateful for your time, never-ending energy, perfectionism and the fact that you never stopped believing in me. One door closes, thousands of others open, and all that is left to do is to choose the right one. This time, we both chose our separate doors, however," wrote Vlhová.
