For the second year in a row, the football club Slovan Bratislava reigns on the domestic scene. After winning the championship title in the Fortuna Liga, they also succeeded in Wednesday's final of the Slovak Cup - Slovnaft Cup 2020/2021, in which they defeated MŠK Žilina 2: 1 after extra time. This is the first time in club history that Slovan was able to repeat the double victory. Most of the work was done by players under the baton of Slovenian Darko Milanič, who was recently replaced on the bench by Vladimír Weiss Sr. The coach will let the players enjoy smaller celebrations, although they will still have the final league duel with Trenčín on Saturday, connected with the handing over of the championship trophy.
