Slovak Para Hockey heading to Beijing

For the first time in history, Slovak Para Ice hockey players will compete at the Paralympic Winter Games. The Slovaks defeated the Germans 4:2 in the decisive match at the qualification tournament in Berlin, Germany, and finished second among the six participants of the event. In March 2022, they can look forward to meeting the best teams in the world at the Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. "It's incredible what we've been able to accomplish as a team. It's a reward for the hours and years we've put in at the stadiums. It's basically the pinnacle of what can be achieved in sport. We are going to train hard for Beijing," Marián Ligda, captain of the Slovak team, said for the official website of the Slovak Paralympic Committee.
