Slovak top skier Petra Vlhova secured her first podium at the opening race of the FIS Ski World Cup in Soelden, Austria, on Saturday, 28 October. Coming third, she gained 60 cup points, 20 more than reigning champion Mikaela Shiffrin. Vlhova’s manager reported Petra is currently in the same shape as two years ago when she won the skiing World Cup. The Ski World Cup will return to Slovakia this winter, after a three year break. The races will be held at Jasna ski centre in Low Tatras in January.
