The Slovak women's hockey team advanced to the A-group of the Division I of the World Championship. They beat Poland 5:1 in Saturday's B-team match and took first place in the six-member group ahead of Italy with 12 points. The team returned to the higher performance group with coach Miroslav Mosnarafter after last year's relegation under Finn Art Sieppi.
