For more than 100 years so far, the month of July is dedicated to one of the biggest sporting events of its kind. It's the time of Tour de France, a cycling race that catches the attention of millions of spectators all over the world. Lately, Slovakia too has claimed its distinguished place on the professional cycling stage. Zuzana Botiková speaks to a Slovak pro-cyclist, Martin Velits, about the Tour, its latest edition, the challenging stages, doping allegations, and also about the possibilities of road-cycling within Slovakia.
