Shooting for medals

Shooting for medals
Slovak shooters won four medals at the European Championships over the weekend. On Friday skeet shooters opened the series with Danka Barteková, Andrea Stranovská and Veronika Sýkorová winning gold in the team competition. Then the bronze medalist from the London Olympics Danka Barteková missed a second gold by a whisker finishing second in the individual competition.

"Perhaps this is how it should be. I try to look at it positively, because I had a very good race in terms of qualification, semi-final and the match for the gold. I have no regrets and I'm not even greatly disappointed, I'm totally fine."

said Barteková. On Sunday Zuzana Rehak-Štefečeková won gold in the individual trap and silver in the team competition together with Jana Mezeiová and Lucia Boorová. Even more, she managed to qualify to next year's summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro thus getting the chance to defend her two silver Olympic medals won so far.

"It started well, I did a few mistakes which I could have avoided. Then my shooting strengthened. After the semifinal I said that there is no need to have small dreams. And I began to dream big," said Štefečeková.
