No state of emergency after assassination attempt

After the attack on Prime Minister Robert Fico, the security situation in the country remains unchanged for the time being. On Thursday, Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok announced that the government is not planning to declare a state of emergency following the National Security Council meeting. The Interior Minister says the police are ready to protect constitutional officials, MPs and journalists. At the same time, investigators are already looking into several suspicions of authorising a criminal offence. Matúš Šutaj Eštok says he will also crack down on similar hate posts on social media.
