Investigating the pandemic while denying that there was one in Slovakia

Peter Kotlár, the Government Plenipotentiary for the review of the process of governance and resource management during the COVID-19 pandemic, stated that Slovakia did not suffer pandemic and that he insists on distancing from the new international health regulations. He said this on Thursday at a meeting of the parliamentary health committee. The opposition has again rejected his actions and positions. The Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) called on the government to remove Kotlár from his post.

Peter Kotlár thinks the rejection of the World Health Organization’s new regulations is beneficial. He pointed out that Slovakia has 18 months to issue an opinion on the regulations, not a year like other countries.

KDH stresses the need for a responsible and professional approach to health issues and calls on Minister Dolinková to take control of the health ministry and prevent further endangerment of Slovak patients. Jozef Šuvada, Slovakia’s representative on the WHO Governing Board, recommended that the Slovak Republic support the updated international health regulations. He respects the fact that the Slovak Republic has decided to disassociate itself from the adoption.
