Slovak President Peter Pellegrini emphasized that the European Union must listen to Slovakia and defend its national interests during an informal discussion with EU ambassadors in Bratislava. Pellegrini stressed that for the EU to be a significant global player, it must set clear priorities and work toward achieving them. "We all face the difficult task of turning the European Union into a project with high economic competitiveness, energy security, and independent thinking in world politics and economics," he noted. He also reaffirmed his commitment to Slovakia’s values and interests, stating, "We will be a reliable and constructive partner, but I will never support measures or visions that go against the national interests of the Slovak Republic."
