Going into Saturday’s second round of the presidential election, the polls indicated it would be a very close battle. Ivan Korcok, the former minister of foreign affairs, long time diplomat and independent candidate, who surprisingly won the first round of the election was neck and neck with incumbent speaker of parliament and head of the Hlas-SD political party Peter Pellegrini. In the end it was not as close as predicted.
Ben Pascoe discussed the results with two political commentators.
